Open Letter to Barack H Obama

22 Sept 2009

Barack H Obama or whoever you are
1600 Pennsylvania Ave
Washington DC

Dear Mr. Obama,

I have considered this writing for several months now and the implications of doing so, and decided it was worth whatever repercussions it may produce.

I respect the office you find yourself elected too. As a 70 year old woman I have been here in the US much longer than you and know far more of our history as a nation both the good and the bad. You, Sir, have not lived long enough to learn either the background of your white ancestry and never took time obviously to learn much of your black history to learn the decency involved with that either.

You are what my generation calls an upstart. You use other ideas as your own. Your playbook comes from failed world policies and failed radical movements and must wonder why you are scorned by the “Astroturf” and “rednecks” in America.

Back off the hard sell and we may listen. I will not live long enough to suffer your plan, but your children will and so will their offspring. It ain’t gonna be fun. Your millions will not last forever in their world.

Oh, BTW, I don’t care if you are black or white. I grew up with black cousins in a white world. We loved each other and were never afraid. I don’t even care where you were born. You are not Presidential, period…. Grow up.

Barbara
